David Richards is the Executive Director of GCU’s Cyber Center of Excellence and an Adjunct Professor. A proud GCU alumnus with 25+ years in IT and Cybers across K-12 and higher education, he contributes to the cybersecurity community through events, curriculum development, and outreach that prepare future professionals.

Joseph “Joe Urbz” Urbaszewski is a leader in cybersecurity education, serving as a Program Manager II for the CCE and as an Adjunct. With nearly 30 years of experience across both public and private education sectors, Joe empowers the next generation of cyber professionals through high-impact, real-world training and strategic partnerships with industry, government, and academia.

Happy New Year! The CCE promotes ethical cyber behaviors by providing access to penetration testing and Security Operations Center (SOC) tools for the purpose of safeguarding digital networks.

This platform serves as a central location for those who wish to enhance their cybersecurity expertise, including learners, community members, and technology professionals. This collaborative space promotes innovation in STEM, crucial for nurturing the next wave of cyber professionals. GCU is expanding our program with a new Overclock immersive cyber living experience, introducing HACKNet.

The CCE is at the forefront of advancing cyber technology and skills through relationships with top industry organizations.

The GCU Cyber Center of Excellence (CCE) supports GCU's two academic programs recognized by the NSA as Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense. These programs are offered both online and on our campus in Phoenix, Arizona, and ensure the rigor and content needed for graduates to pursue careers in cybersecurity.
